3. How many parks will be built or reconstructed within the city? And when will all of the construction commence?

There’s a total of 11 parks that will be built or reconstructed by the end of 2019.

4. How many parks are under the GoBond?

The GoBond will fund 8 of the 11 projects assigned to the Office of Capital Improvements.

5. How are the Architects and General Contractors selected to work on City Projects?

The state of Florida defines the guidelines in which municipal projects are advertised and awarded. This rigorous mechanisms are executed and monitored through the City’s Procurement Department. For more information see (procurement website) for solicitations and notifications.

6. When is my Park coming?

The Office of Capital Improvement has set for an implementation plan for the completion of all the parks in the City. Please see Services Page.

7. What is capital improvement?

A capital improvement is the addition or alteration of real property that meets the following criteria:
- It substantially adds to the value of the property, or prolongs the useful life of the property.

- The investment becomes part of the property.

- It is intended to be a permanent installation.

8. Can the residents of Hallandale Beach review and comment on proposed development before it final design?

Projects can be viewed by the residents a week before the item goes to City Commission for approval. The residents are also encouraged to attend the commission meetings if they have any comments concerning the new development.

9. What is a Community Benefit Plan?

All new construction of projects over $1 Million dollars are required by the City to have a Community Benefit Component. The selected Contractor, as part of their Contractual obligations, pledges a percentage of the total contract value to be dedicated for Community Opportunities. The goals can be reached either through vendor participation or local labor force.
