City of Hallandale Beach Storm Update 3

Public Information Bulletin 3- Hurricane Dorian
August 31, 2019  5:00 p.m.

The City of Hallandale Beach continues to monitor the storm by following the National Hurricane Center for latest storm information and partnering with the County and State Emergency Management Divisions. Dorian is forecast to be a powerful and dangerous hurricane as it approaches the Florida peninsula Monday through Wednesday.
Despite the trends, the risk of destructive winds, storm surge and significant flooding continues, even if the center remains off shore. There remains the likelihood for a prolonged period of hazardous conditions to last for a couple of days due to slow storm movement.

Here are a few updates:

• The Boil Water Notice has been lifted. Water is safe to drink. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we performed compliance testing per State regulations.
• For Hallandale Beach specific questions, you may call the HB EOC hotline at (954) 266-5320.
• Hurricane Dorian and King Tide may bring storm surge, flooding and high tides that will impact parts of Hallandale Beach and coastal areas.
• Sandbag distribution is closed as sand supply has been depleted.
• Residents should secure exterior items to mitigate risks.

• We will continue to post relevant information on the following page:
• Mini-Bus Shuttle service will remain in normal operation until further notice. City is staffed and ready to respond to emergencies.
• All City Park Facilities remain close. Garbage/Sanitation pickup has concluded and is suspended until further notice.
• We ask the public to refrain from placing bulk trash items further in the swale.
• Normal City Operations will continue until further notice.
