Celebrating our Humanitarians

COHB takes great pride in honoring individuals that enrich the fabric of our community. Citizens who have promoted unity and harmony are recognized by the presentation of the MLK Humanitarian Award. This year we would like to honor Marguerite Bryant for her philanthropic work in the Hallandale Beach Community. For more than 64 years Ms. Bryant has served in our community, lending a helping hand to anyone in need.  Read More 

City's Building Official

Meet our new Building Official,
Shellie Ransom-Jackson


Shellie Ransom-Jackson came on board in early September 2017 as the City’s Building Official for the City of Hallandale Beach.
By eliminating redundancies and streamlining actions, she reduced the permitting backlog and improved daily operations. This enabled the administrative technical staff to focus on further efficiencies for improving customer service. Read More

Recently, the Code Compliance Division along with the Police and Public Works Department, joined efforts to perform “Illegal Dump Sweeps” across the City.   This initiative, led by Mr. Jose Campa, is geared towards informing and educating Hallandale Beach residents on trash removal services from the City.  The Keeping #HBClean effort highlights tips on reporting illegal dump sites, which helps City staff address issues promptly and helps keep Hallandale Beach clean.  City Staff visits quadrants of the community to knock on doors and hand out informational fliers. Read More

The City of Hallandale Beach is dedicated to being innovative and current.
