June 16, 2023 Join Us for Our Juneteenth Celebration

|
All are welcome to join us for our annual Juneteenth Celebration today, June 16, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Foster Park (609 NW 6th Avenue)! While the Emancipation Proclamation was signed in 1863, it wasn’t until over two years later that enslaved African Americans were freed in Texas. Today, we'll celebrate this important day in history with art, poetry, food, music, and so much more. We hope you'll join us! Please note, City Hall and all administrative offices will be closed on Monday, June 19, 2023, in observance of the holiday.

Trains are faster than you think. While cars can stop as quickly as 15 feet per second, trains take a whopping 1.5 miles to come to a complete stop. That means, if you get stuck on the tracks, there’s no way a train will be able to stop in time. Be safe and help prevent a tragedy by stopping before the train tracks and waiting until the train passes and the safety gates lift. Click here to learn more about rail safety.
