The City of Hallandale Beach is currently in a phased partial reopening of our Parks as well as the City Marina and Hallandale Beach Cemetery The Phase Two partial reopening now includes expanded Park Hours and open amenities. After six months of closure to comply with Broward County Emergency Orders, playgrounds and fitness equipment in Hallandale Beach Parks are now open with guidelines for use.
The Phase Two reopening includes extended hours for Joseph Scavo Off-Leash Dog Park, and Tennis Courts and Racquetball Courts at OB Johnson and Peter Bluesten Parks.
The City welcomes visitors to Designated Park Facilities with the following guidelines:
- All Park ordinances, rules and regulations are in effect. Broward County Emergency Order 20-27, Attachment 8 outlines County Requirements for Parks.
- Park hours are 7:30am - Dusk.
- Parking lots will remain closed to minimize travel and encourage neighborhood use.
- Tennis Courts at OB Johnson Park are Open Monday - Friday 8am - 6pm. Tennis& Racquetball Courts at Peter Bluesten Park are open 7:00am - Dusk. A maximum of four people (two on Racquetball) are allowed on the court at any time (singles or doubles play only). Play is first come first serve, reservations are not being accepted.

Use Restrictions The following activities and amenities will remain closed. Please prepare for your visit accordingly: - Restrooms
- Community Center/ Facilities
- Picnic Shelters/ Pavilions
- Athletic/ Sports Fields
- Swimming Pool
- Sports Lighting
- Concession Stands
- Water Fountains
- Park Parking Lots
- All organized athletic leagues, games, races, pick-up games and tournaments, recreation programs, events, and facility rentals are suspended
- Social gathering of groups of 11 or more people are not allowed
At this time, the BF James Pool, the Cultural Community Center, Golden Isles Park and Tennis Center (under construction), Gulfstream Academy Athletic Complex, Historic Hallandale School House, Historic Village, Peter Bluesten Park, Teen Garden will remain closed.

Facial coverings help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and help keep you and those around you safe. Facial coverings are in addition to, and not a substitute for, the required social distancing. Broward County Emergency Order requires facial coverings for all persons in an establishment, including members of the public, and when physical distancing requirements cannot be maintained outside. Absent an express exception, facial coverings must be worn by:
- All persons obtaining services at City facilities including City Hall.
- All persons while outside their residence, when physical distancing cannot be maintained.
- All persons while visiting or using an amenity (park, pool, beach or any leisure/ entertainment area of a multi-family housing or residential facility including pool, community room, athletic court) when physical distancing (6') cannot be maintained.
- All persons at an establishment (retail, commercial, government, charity, non-profit, business, organization) including entering, exiting, and when moving around, regardless of physical distancing.
- Workers in any establishment or amenity, regardless of physical distancing.
- All persons visiting or using a common area of a multi-family housing including reception area, hallway, elevator, regardless of physical distancing.
- All persons are required to wear facial coverings at all times while using or visiting a gym or fitness center, except when actively exercising.
- All other persons required to wear facial coverings under Broward County Emergency Order
Facial coverings are also required to the extent expressly required by any Executive Order of the Governor and as stated in any attachment to the Broward County Emergency Orders.Frequently asked questions about Face Coverings can be found here.
