Mission
To provide excellence in information technology solutions and services
that will facilitate the vision, objectives and goals of the City of
Hallandale Beach.
Overview
The Information Technology (IT) Department is the primary technology resource for City departments to improve employee productivity and help deliver City services to the community in the most cost-effective and convenient manner.
Services
Over 400 City staff at 21 city locations are provided voice and data services. There are about 200 wireless devices and over 350 wired devices comprising the voice network. Most wired devices are connected to our VoIP phone switch with the remainder providing basic analog telephone service. More than 375 desktop and laptop computers utilize the data network comprised of Local Area Networks (LAN) connecting to the Wide Area Network (WAN), giving access to enterprise and general business applications. Most business applications are run on network servers, with the enterprise application (Sungard HTE) run on an IBM i-Series. Information Technology assesses City staff technical training needs and facilitates training sessions.
