SUBJECT: A Resolution of the City of Hallandale Beach, Florida, Establishing the Total Sum of the Annual Fire Protection Services Special Assessment; Setting the Amount Assessed Against Each Parcel of Property for the 2009-2010 Fiscal Year; Providing for the Continued Use of the Uniform Method of Collection

During the City Commission Special Budget meeting on August 26-27, 2009, the City Commission approved staff’s recommended Fire Assessment rates.

In accordance with Florida Statue, the City Commission must adopt non-ad Valorem assessments, such as this Fire Assessment, at a Public Hearing. The attached resolution identifies the amount to be assessed against each property type for budget year 2009-2010. This resolution satisfies the statutory requirement to adopt the assessment roll. City ordinance also requires rates to be set annually by resolution.
