SUBJECT:     A Resolution of the City of Hallandale Beach, Florida, Supporting the Department of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Organization

The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense organization that seeks to promote a culture in which all American Employers support and value the military service of their employees.  This organization is extremely important to support not only those serving in the military but raise awareness and provide support to those employers whose employees are called to active duty.  In our own City we have had several employees called to active duty during this time of war.   I believe the City has already taken the lead and set an example through our local Community programs, Commission action, and the personal emotional support we provide to our employees and their families when they are called to active duty.  The Resolution is an important instrument to raise awareness of this organization.  Therefore, I am requesting support of the City Commission by passing the attached Resolution.
