SUBJECT: Ordinance Changing the Name of the Code Enforcement Advisory Committee to Code and Permitting Advisory Committee  CAD# 018/07 & CAD# 031/05

PURPOSE:

To adopt an Ordinance on Second Reading changing the name of the Code Enforcement Advisory Committee.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:

Ordinance No. 2006-06 created a Code Enforcement Advisory Committee in Section 2-141 of City Code and repealed sections 2-142 and 2-148 which pertained to the Code Enforcement Board.  Since the Code Enforcement Advisory Committee was created by Code, it is necessary to change the name by Ordinance.

At the November 5, 2008 City Commission meeting, the City Commission discussed the Ordinance on First Reading and approved changing the name of the Code Enforcement Advisory Committee to the Code and Permitting Advisory Committee.

Attached is the proposed Ordinance which changes the name to the Code and Permitting Advisory Committee.

RECOMMENDATION:

The City Commission adopt the Ordinance on Second Reading and authorize the appropriate officials to sign.
