SUBJECT:     Consideration of Selection of the City Commission Representatives on the Police and Fire Pension Board of Trustees  CAD# 002/07

 


PURPOSE:

 

To select two members of the City Commission to serve on the Police and Fire Pension Board of Trustees in accordance with Ordinance No. 2008-18.

 

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:

 

Members on the Police and Fire Pension Board representing the Police and Fire Departments have recently been elected to new terms. The terms of the current two City Commission designated members on the Police and Fire Pension Board have also expired.  Accordingly, the City Commission is requested to designate two members of the City Commission to begin new terms of two years.   

 

Ordinance No. 2008-18, adopted on September 3, 2008, states that City Commissioners appointed to the Police and Fire Pension Board of Trustees serve in this capacity as an ex officio duty of their office of City Commissioner.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

The City Commission appoint two City Commission members to serve on the Police and Fire Pension Board in accordance with Ordinance No. 2008-18.
