SUBJECT: Fiscal Year 2008-2009 Special Fire Assessment Non-Ad Valorem

During the City Commission Special Budget meeting on August 28-29, 2008, the City Commission approved staff’s recommended Fire Assessment rates.

In accordance with Florida Statue, the City Commission must adopt non-ad Valorem assessments, such as this Fire Assessment, at a Public Hearing. The attached resolution identifies the amount to be assessed against each property type for budget year 2008-2009. This resolution satisfies the statutory requirement to adopt the assessment roll. City ordinance also requires rates to be set annually by resolution
